Challenge: The challenge was to design and produce a 2- to 4-minute instructional video that transformed a static storyboard into an engaging learning experience. Rather than simply demonstrating a procedure, the video needed to use instructional storytelling, purposeful visuals, narration, and editing to motivate learners while clearly teaching a specific task. The project required planning every stage of production, including storyboarding, location scouting, filming, audio recording, editing, and incorporating peer feedback to create an effective learning object.
Deliverable: The final deliverable is a polished instructional video, First Steps with Horses: Learning Trust and Confidence, accompanied by a detailed storyboard documenting the pre-production planning process. Designed for parents, caregivers, therapeutic riding staff, volunteers, and supporters, the video demonstrates safe horse-handling techniques while illustrating how confidence-building ground activities support therapeutic riding students and other program participants. Together, the storyboard and finished video showcase the complete instructional design and multimedia production process—from concept development through final delivery.
