This project focused on developing a concise, professional instructional video (2–3 minutes) that demonstrates how instructional designers can thoughtfully use AI as part of their design process. I applied principles of clear communication, visual hierarchy, and pacing to explain both what AI is and how it can be used responsibly in instructional design practice. Rather than assuming prior knowledge, I began by addressing foundational concepts—such as large language models (LLMs)—to clarify how AI tools function and where they fit within the instructional design workflow. I then explored practical use cases, including brainstorming, outlining content, supporting practice activities, and rapid prototyping.
A key focus of this project was connecting theory to real-world application by sharing how I currently integrate AI in the classroom, such as using LLMs to simulate stakeholder interviews when access to participants is limited. I also addressed closed-system tools and ethical considerations, emphasizing responsible and transparent use.
